The countdown clock starts with time (Nice = 10-secs). Each high-five adds time based on difficulty (yay), and misses shave time off based on difficulty (boo).
10-hit combos score extra points and start gift drops. Quickly smash falling gifts for extra time and bonus points - don't miss the gifts! Get them quickly too, because Santa's hand is not waiting for you.
